Charlie Ross isn't looking forward to sixth grade. Change is coming to his neighborhood school. A lot of kids are leaving, but Charlie's parents think he should stay.

Armstrong Le Rois isn't looking forward to sixth grade either. His parents have signed him up for Opportunity Busing to an all-white school in the Hollywood HIlls, and all he wants to know is "What time in the morning will my alarm clock have the opportunity to ring?"
